Conception to the Table

About Us

The youngest of seven children, Stanley grew up milking Holsteins. Early in life Stanley developed an intense interest in Hampshire's. While still in college one of his hogs set the world record for loin-eye size. One year out of college Stanley exhibited and sold his first national champion. He was named master seed stock producer at 27 years of age. His Hampshire's dominated in the 70's and 80's.  In 1983, Stanley's herd sire Kaw-liga was the leading sire of the breed with a score of 239. The next closest boar (also Stanley's) scored an 89. Record sales were held on the farm. Stanley showed many national champions on more than one occasion - the reserve champion as well. At the 1978 NBS (the World Series of swine Shows) his four boars were in the same class and placed 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th.

Stanley is a past president of the Iowa Hampshire breeders and also the National Hampshire Board. While on the National Board Stanley was instrumental in starting a campaign to hold the First national show in June. It was a huge success and soon the other breeds joined in several years later, which evolved into the World Pork Expo. Stanley has judged national shows both here and abroad. In the 1980's, Stanley agreed to help a friend by taking care of his Simmentals while he attended college. After the Hampshire herd was twice decimated by Pseudo Rabies, Stanley's focus moved to building a cattle herd as strong as his Hampshire's had been. We encourage your inquiry. Thank You!
